I have always liked Lou Reed, not loved but liked. He has a very unique style that he refered to as 'Lou Reed Music.' Which is pretty acurate. I have never really liked Velvet Underground. I know a few songs. Every time I hear them it just sounds like dated head trippy acid / herion music that being on one of those substances would greatly increase your appreciation of the music. After listening to this a few times through, I can certainly understand the fuss about them. They carved out a notch for themselves that I don't think there was anyone comming close to. Even today you can hear their influence on all types of things from Coldplay to Radiohead. Sure it still sounds dated, but in a good way. You can close your eyes and feel like your in some crush red velvet beanbag chair with your lava lamp and incense.
