Bye-bye Popcorn Ceilings.

Popcorn Ceilings... Yuck!  A tell tale sign that it's time to update.  It's inexpensive and a relitively easy project.

First you'll need supplies.

 10" putty knife

Spray bottle

Fabric softner

Ladder

Drop cloths... lot's of drop cloths

Masks

Sand paper or Electric sander

Pour a half cap of fabric softner in the spray bottle and fill it the rest of the way with water.  Next, start spraying.  Spray a large area and let it soak in for about 5 minutes.  You may need to spray a little more.  Once the popcorn is well saturated it will come off in clumpy sheets.

After removing all of the popcorn it was time to sand the rough spots.  I started by hand but it was taking so long so I went to the electric sander.  The electric sander is faster but 10 times messier.  I'm talking dust everywhere!  So you can decide what you would rather deal with.

      Ta daaaah!

Tomorrow it's time to paint.
